France to warm up for RLWC26 with Test against England

France is preparing to name a new women's coach ahead of an upcoming home Test against England, which will serve as a warm-up for the World Cup next year.

Dominique Baloup, the president of French Federation Rugby XIII, announced that France will host England on July 26 as part of their preparations for the RLWC26 tournament, which will take place in Australia, Papua New Guinea, and New Zealand.

Currently ranked No.4 in the IRL World Rankings, Baloup highlighted that the ongoing development of women's rugby league in France is evidence of a well-defined strategy aimed at advancing the sport, bolstered by government funding.

France will kick off their World Cup journey against Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby on October 17, followed by matches against New Zealand in Christchurch on October 25, and Fiji on the Gold Coast on October 31.

The Test match against England comes at a time when the FFRXIII is looking to appoint a new coach after Romain Maillot's resignation.
