Foxx Hails Ashes Triumph as Rugby League's Pinnacle
Despite their Ashes series victory, which Josh Addo-Carr described as rugby league's "pinnacle," the world champion Kangaroos are eager to achieve a clean sweep against England, while also considering adjustments for the final Test.
The Kangaroos are resolute in their mission to win again at Headingley on Saturday, facing an England team that is equally motivated to avoid what captain George Williams labeled an "embarrassment."
Coach Kevin Walters faces a dilemma: how to pursue a perfect series while also considering playing time for some squad members who have yet to step onto the field during the tour.
When asked about potential changes for the last match, Walters admitted that he hadn't reached a conclusion but expressed that it would be "nice to give some guys a reward" for their training efforts that have contributed to the team's preparation.
This opens the door for players like Blayke Brailey, Dylan Edwards, Ethan Strange, Mitchell Moses, and Jacob Preston to possibly see action.
Walters expressed pride in his squad for adapting to a uniquely challenging environment, one that differs from their typical experiences in the NRL. "You probably don't experience these sorts of games in the NRL, where it's slow and tough and physical and there are not many points being scored. I was really happy that we could overcome that," he remarked.
