The New Zealand Warriors have proudly announced that four of their former players have been inducted into the prestigious Legends of League, a well-deserved honor for these rugby league greats.
Among the 12 new inductees are two former Warriors captains, Simon Mannering and Matthew Ridge, who led both their club and the national team, the Kiwis, with skill and determination.
Joining them are winger Sean Hoppe and center Nigel Vagana, who were key players in the Warriors' early days.
The coaching world is also represented in this esteemed group, with former Kiwi coach Frank Endacott and ex-Kiwi captain Nathan Cayless being recognized for their contributions to the sport.
Endacott even had a stint coaching the Warriors' New South Wales Cup team, showing his dedication to the game.
Rounding out the list are other former Kiwi captains Fred Ah Kuoi and Graeme West, along with prop Dane Sorensen, all of whom left their mark on the rugby league world.
Additionally, three former Kiwi Ferns - Zavana Aranga, Tasha Davie, and Rachel White - have also been honored for their achievements.
These players and coaches were selected based on their longevity in the sport, their leadership skills, their achievements at all levels of the game, and their post-playing contributions.
The requirement of being retired for at least five years is a testament to the lasting impact these legends have had on the sport since the establishment of the Legends of League in 1995.
This induction is a true testament to the legacy these individuals have left on New Zealand rugby league, enhancing the sport's standing and inspiring future generations of players.
It is a fitting recognition for these warriors of the game.
