Former union teammate tipped for NRL success

In a move reminiscent of a bold line break, former Melbourne Rebels teammate Jeral Skelton, now slinging it for the Canterbury Bulldogs, has thrown his support behind Carter Gordon's transition to the NRL.

Gordon, having never stepped foot on the rugby league field in his younger days, made a swooping play earlier this year by signing a deal with the Gold Coast Titans under the watchful eye of coach Des Hasler.

Following the demise of the Melbourne Rebels in the Super Rugby scene, Gordon seized the opportunity to grapple with the challenges of the NRL.

Speaking to Zero Tackle, Skelton, in a classic display of mate camaraderie, praised Gordon's skills and predicted a stellar performance in his new league.

"I was mates with Carter Gordon back at the Rebels, a player with immense talent," Skelton shared.

"I believe he's going to light it up in rugby league."

With the stage set and the game plan in motion, all eyes are on Gordon to make a mark in the NRL, just like a seasoned veteran chalking up the tries.
