LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

Tyrone Peachey, a stalwart of the Indigenous All Stars squad and former Penrith Panthers player, has expressed his frustration and disappointment with Spencer Leniu, his former teammate who is currently serving a suspension with the Roosters.

Leniu has been accused of racially slurring Ezra Mam, an incident that has left Peachey feeling disheartened.

Known for his skills on the rugby league field, Peachey described Leniu as a "gentleman" who unfortunately "loses his head on the footy field." Despite this, Peachey was saddened to hear about the derogatory language used towards Mam, emphasizing that racism in the sport is not as prevalent as it once was when he first started out.

Reflecting on his experiences, Peachey acknowledged that while racism may have been more common in the past, he has learned to develop a tough exterior to deal with such situations.

In the rough and tumble world of rugby league, Peachey's resilience serves as a testament to the strength required to navigate through challenging circumstances both on and off the field.
