Former NRL speedster finds new home in Rugby

Former NRL outside back Matt Ikuvalu has found a new team for the current season, signing with the Wyong Roos in the Newcastle Rugby League competition\.

After last playing in the NRL in 2023, Ikuvalu has been on the lookout for a new team since September\.

The 31-year-old player will now have the opportunity to continue his rugby league career alongside former NRL forward Zane Tetevano\.

Ikuvalu, a product of the Central Coast and Manly Sea Eagles junior, most recently played with the Catalans Dragons in the Super League competition\.

He featured in the 2023 Grand Final for Catalans but unfortunately lost to the Wigan Warriors\.

Known for his versatility, Ikuvalu can play anywhere in the back-line and has had a successful career in the NRL, making 43 first-grade appearances and scoring 29 tries over six seasons with the Sydney Roosters and Cronulla Sharks\.
