Former Knight tackles new challenge in wrestling ring

Former Newcastle Knights winger Nathan Ross has tackled a new challenge by stepping into the wrestling ring over the weekend, in what can only be described as a surprise move [like a last-minute switch play on the field].

Having last graced the NRL in 2018 before being sidelined by a career-ending injury [like a red card in a crucial match], Ross made a grand entrance at the 'Newy Pro Rumble' match for the Newcastle Pro Wrestling promotion, proudly sporting his beloved Knights jersey.

Hailing from a rugby league family [like a proud dynasty of champions], with his father Mark Ross being a former player himself, Nathan has left his mark on the game with 23 tries in 60 games for the Knights, before his unfortunate retirement due to a pelvis injury [like a star player taken out by a brutal tackle].

These days, Ross is still keeping the fire burning on the rugby league field, running alongside former NRL stars Will Smith and Luke Walsh for Western Suburbs in the tough Newcastle Rugby League competition [like a fierce showdown in the final minutes of a game].
