In a move reminiscent of a player switching teams in the final minutes of a heated grand final, former Newcastle Knights NRLW forward Jacinta Carter has officially joined forces with another Sydney club.

Hailing from the land down under, Carter, a two-time U19s QLD Maroons representative, has inked a two-year deal with the Cronulla Sharks NRLW.

This latest signing marks her departure from the Newcastle Knights NRLW squad, where she bid farewell at the end of last season.

Joining the Sharks will undoubtedly strengthen their forward pack, adding depth alongside players like Ellie Johnston and the soon-to-be-mom Caitlan Johnston.

However, it's uncertain if Johnston will be able to lace up her boots this season, as she's expecting a little bundle of joy during the pre-season.

"I'm ready for a fresh start.

Transitioning from the juniors, I'm eager to step up and take on a more seasoned role," said Carter.

"A new team, a new city - Sydney is uncharted territory for me.

I believe this change will give me the push I need to up my game."

With her sights set on making a mark in the NRLW scene, Carter's move to the Sharks symbolizes a new chapter in her rugby league journey.

As she dives into this new adventure, she's gearing up to tackle whatever challenges come her way.
