Former Brisbane Broncos player, Jamil Hopoate, has been set free from the slammer and has scored a try in reuniting with his family after a tough stint behind bars.

In October 2022, Hopoate - the bro of current NRL ballers Albert and Lehi Hopoate - was benched for a minimum of two years and three months in the big house.

But now, he's back in the game and is crashing at his old man's place, John Hopoate.

"He's sweet as, mate," Hopoate shared with News Corp.

Part of the legendary 'Hopoate Family', Jamil's NRL career came to a premature end after just 12 months with the Brisbane Broncos in the 2020 season before getting the boot.

Nevertheless, his list of fouls is a mile long, and he was busted for smuggling a hefty drug shipment from London to Sydney, netting $10,000 to run cocaine, which has since been linked to an Irish cartel.
