Former New South Wales Blues and Melbourne Storm forward Ryan Hoffman has criticized ex-teammate Aaron Woods over remarks he made about Queensland Maroons coach Billy Slater ahead of State of Origin Game 2.

According to reports from zerotackle.com, Woods criticized Slater's decision to drop Queensland captain Daly Cherry-Evans before the game in Perth, which Queensland ultimately won.

In response, Slater urged Woods to reflect on his comments and consider their potential impact during a media event the day before the match.

He also referenced the late former Queensland coach Paul Green in his rebuttal, though he later retracted those statements and apologized to Green's family.

Despite Slater's response, Woods defended his remarks.

Hoffman, speaking to ABC, labeled Woods as a "coward" for his comments, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation.
