NRL veteran Kieran Foran has announced his retirement at the end of the current season, concluding a distinguished 17-year career that included stints at five clubs.
The 34-year-old will play his 310th match against the Brisbane Broncos this Sunday with the Gold Coast Titans, who will also be parting ways with coach Des Hasler.
Foran expressed that it was a tough decision to step away from the game he has loved since childhood, stating, "This is a game I have loved ever since I was a young boy, so coming to the decision was a difficult one … but it's now something that I'm really comfortable with."
He emphasized the importance of announcing his retirement in advance, allowing the club to plan for 2026 and giving himself time to prepare for life after football.
Despite his decision, Foran remains committed to finishing out the season strong: "I'm still as competitive as ever and every time I pull on the Titans jersey over the next few months, I'm going to be giving everything I've got."
Foran debuted in the NRL in 2009 with the Manly Sea Eagles, where he played 196 matches across two separate stints.
His career also included short tenures with the Parramatta Eels (9 games), New Zealand Warriors (17 games), Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs (40 games), and the Gold Coast Titans, where he has played 47 games to date.
