Foran Takes Over as Manly Coach

Sea Eagles assistant coach Kieran Foran instructing players on the field

Kieran Foran, a club icon, has been named the interim coach for Manly following the dismissal of Anthony Seibold after just three games in the 2026 NRL season.

The day after the Sea Eagles parted ways with Seibold, Foran received a call to Brookvale Oval, marking the beginning of his first head-coaching position.

As Manly's last premiership-winning five-eighth, Foran has a rich history with the team, playing 196 games over two stints, and he joined Seibold's coaching staff this year after retiring.

Additionally, Foran serves as an analyst for Fox Sports, and he expressed his surprise at the news of Seibold's departure during Friday night coverage, following Thursday's defeat to the Sydney Roosters.

The 35-year-old must quickly gather his thoughts, as he faces the challenge of stabilizing a Manly club striving to avoid finishing with a wooden spoon.

Chairman Scott Penn emphasized Foran's suitability for the role during this crucial period for the team.

"Kieran has given so much to this club over many years and we are delighted that he has accepted this new role," Penn shared.

"The fact he has only recently finished his playing career is an advantage; he understands the current pace of the game and what we need to do to compete."

"He is Manly through and through and we know that he will pour all his energy into this new role."
