Kieran Foran, despite retiring from professional rugby league, remains enthusiastic about the rising talent in the sport, particularly young halfback Zane Harrison. Foran concluded his playing career after participating in 318 NRL matches across five teams, in addition to representing the New Zealand Kiwis in 34 international games. Recognized as one of the premier playmakers during his tenure, the 35-year-old veteran is now looking to the future.
Foran has expressed strong confidence in Harrison, a former teammate at the Gold Coast Titans, declaring that he has a "big future" in the NRL. The young player has recently been added to the club's Top 30 roster for the next two seasons, garnering attention early in his career with several notable accomplishments.
At just the beginning of his journey, Harrison has already made a name for himself as a two-time Under-19s NSW Blues representative, and he received the 2024 Peter Sterling Medal, further solidifying his reputation by leading Palm Beach Currumbin to victory in the NRL Schoolboy Cup.
Foran praised him, stating, "He has been a gun schoolboy coming through. There are huge opinions on him and I've been really impressed with what I've seen of him this year." He added that Harrison's transition to the Queensland Cup was marked by impressive performances. "He transitioned to QLD Cup and played incredibly well," Foran noted, highlighting the young athlete's potential for success in the future.
