In a disappointing end to their 2023 season, the Jersey Flegg Sharks were defeated 20-6 by the Eels in their elimination semi-final.
Despite finishing the regular season in third place, the Sharks were unable to secure a victory in the Finals series, suffering back-to-back losses to the Bulldogs and the Eels.
The Eels took an early 8-0 lead and maintained their advantage until halftime.
The Sharks managed to close the gap with a try, bringing the score to 8-6.
However, they were unable to capitalize on this momentum and the Eels dominated possession, aided by a high penalty count against the Sharks.
Despite the loss, coach Andrew Dallalana expressed pride in his team's efforts throughout the season.
The Sharks will now have to reflect on their performance and consider what could have been in the remainder of the Finals series.
