Flanagan's Future Focus: Ilias Hits the Bench

Lachlan Ilias has been dropped from the Dragons' first-grade team following their heavy 46-18 defeat to the Roosters on Anzac Day.

Coach Shane Flanagan confirmed that despite this decision, Ilias's future in the NRL remains secure.

Ilias, who had joined the Dragons in the off-season after leaving South Sydney, struggled to take control during the match.

He has been replaced in the lineup by 19-year-old Lyhkan King-Togia for the upcoming game against the Tigers.

Flanagan described the overall team performance as disappointing, noting that some players were fortunate to keep their spots.

Regarding Ilias, he stated, "He's a first grade halfback, and he just needs to go and find a little bit of form and a bit of confidence.

He's trying really hard, his kicking's been good and he'll go back.

He's got a real good attitude, no one wants to get dropped but he'll go back and work hard and we'll see him again."
