Shane Flanagan, the Dragons coach, is making a bold move to bring Joey Manu to the Red V, offering him the captaincy role if he makes the switch.
Manu, currently with the Roosters, is off contract at the end of 2024, allowing Flanagan to negotiate with rival NRL clubs.
The Dragons are reportedly preparing a $5 million deal for Manu, with the added incentive of offering him the fullback position.
Flanagan has made it clear that Manu can have "whatever he wants" at the club, including the captaincy.
However, he acknowledges that it is unlikely Manu will leave the Roosters.
Flanagan also addressed the situation with current Dragons halfback Ben Hunt, reassuring that he will stay with the club despite requesting to leave last season.
