St George Illawarra Dragons' head coach Shane Flanagan has outlined his vision for turning the team around by 2026. After a challenging 2025 season, where the Dragons finished 15th, expectations remain low for the upcoming year.

Despite their position, Flanagan pointed out that the situation is more nuanced, as the team grappled with significant injuries and suffered ten narrow losses by less than a try. He emphasized the need for the team's attack to become more effective, expressing his intentions to instill a more adventurous playing style.

"Taking more risks is something we will encourage this year. We score one more try per game and we're in the top eight," Flanagan stated in an interview with News Corp.

He further noted, "If something is on then they need to be able to back themselves. We play a bit of eyes-up footy but we can sometimes be a bit conservative about completing the sets."

As preparations for the new season begin, the Dragons face numerous critical decisions, particularly concerning their halfback positions, which are deemed vital for their success moving forward.
