NRL Match Preview: Round 24
According to sharks.com.au, Craig Fitzgibbon is eager to celebrate his 100th match as the head coach of Cronulla with a victory during an important Indigenous Round clash against the Titans at Sharks Stadium this Saturday afternoon.
Even after a setback against the Dragons last week, the Sharks, currently ranked seventh, maintain control over their playoff aspirations with three remaining games and a bye ahead of the finals.
Since taking the helm in 2022, Fitzgibbon aims to lead the Sharks to the playoffs for a fourth consecutive year. Although a top-four finish is a possibility, the team is being cautious about the threat posed by the Gold Coast.
For the Sharks, maintaining ball security will be critical, particularly after a poor 63% completion rate contributed to their 22-14 loss against St George Illawarra last round.
Despite that setback, Fitzgibbon is optimistic, noting that the team had demonstrated strong form with four consecutive victories prior to the defeat, and he believes they will quickly find their rhythm again.
