In a dominant display of rugby league, New Zealand's Jamayne Isaako scored a double in his first game for the Kiwis since 2019, helping his team secure a commanding 50-0 victory over Samoa in their Pacific Championships clash at Eden Park.

This win marked New Zealand's first shut-out victory on home soil in over two decades.

Isaako, who was named the Ken Irvine Medallist for his impressive 24 tries during the Telstra Premiership season, added two more to his tally, taking his total to 26 tries in 2023.

New Zealand's performance showcased their power through the middle and the exceptional skills of their outside backs, leaving Samoa struggling to generate sustained attacking pressure.

Early on in the match, captain James Fisher-Harris, Moses Leota, and Joseph Tapine stood out for the Kiwis.

Additionally, Nelson Asofa-Solomona, who came off the bench, scored a try and contributed to New Zealand's dominant performance.

Looking ahead, New Zealand will face Australia in Melbourne, setting up an exciting clash between the likes of Tino Fa'asuamaleaui and Payne Haas.

Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, who was named at fullback ahead of Golden Boot winner Joseph Manu, made an impact for the Kiwis with his clever play, setting up Isaako for the first points of the game.

Later on, Matt Timoko's impressive run and Tapine's pass allowed Jahrome Hughes to score, extending New Zealand's lead to 12-0.
