In a matter of minutes, the remaining NRL finals tickets were completely sold out, leaving a wave of disappointment among fans who were unable to secure a seat at the games in Sydney.

The NRL's decision to allow home teams to host finals at smaller suburban grounds has caused anger and frustration among supporters, as it has contributed to the scarcity of tickets.

This policy is in stark contrast to the AFL, which has opted to use larger capacity stadiums for all three Victorian finals this weekend, despite St Kilda's desire to play at the smaller Marvel Stadium.

The upcoming matches will see Penrith, the minor premiers, hosting the New Zealand Warriors at BlueBet Stadium, while Cronulla will host the Sydney Roosters at PointsBet Stadium in an elimination final.

These two grounds have a combined capacity of just over 30,000, which is similar to the capacity of Sydney's smallest major rectangular venue, CommBank Stadium in Parramatta.

Unfortunately for fans, they will have to forgo the experience of watching the games at venues like Accor Stadium and the newly-built Allianz Stadium, as they will not be utilized this weekend.
