Tarryn Aiken, a key player for the Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons, confidently assured her new Blues coach, John Strange, of her full fitness for Thursday's State of Origin opener.

The two agreed not to communicate again until after the match.

Strange, who led the Sydney Roosters to a premiership victory last year with Aiken as his star playmaker, noted that she had been dealing with injury concerns leading up to the Origin game.

Despite this, Aiken expressed no worries about her fitness as she prepared to enter camp for the highly anticipated showdown at Suncorp Stadium.
