The North Queensland Cowboys are looking to enhance their roster depth as they gear up for a finals push in 2026, despite missing out on some key recruitment targets like Sandon Smith and Jonah Pezet.

To bolster their squad, the club has signed explosive Fijian international Ronald Philitoga on a development contract for the upcoming NRL season.

As reported by WWOS, the 24-year-old winger caught the attention of scouts with his impressive performance for Wynnum Manly in the Queensland Cup, where he scored 11 tries across 14 matches.

Additionally, Philitoga represented Fiji in the recent Pacific Championships, starting on the wing in their match against Papua New Guinea.

This represents a significant opportunity for the fast-paced player, who has garnered a reputation for his finishing skills and strength on the field.

Under coach Todd Payten, the Cowboys have been concentrating on nurturing developing outside backs to enhance their roster ahead of the 2026 season.
