Fijian Player Hospitalized After Medical Emergency

Melbourne Storm forward Tui Kamikamica suffers suspected stroke

The Melbourne Storm are facing a challenging situation as Fijian forward Tui Kamikamica has reportedly suffered a suspected stroke.

The club announced Kamikamica's condition on Monday afternoon, requesting privacy for the forward during his hospital recovery.

"Melbourne Storm can confirm that forward Tui Kamikamica is currently in hospital following a medical episode on Monday morning," the statement indicated.

"He has undergone treatment for a suspected stroke and is recovering in hospital."

"Tui is receiving the best possible care and is being supported by hospital specialists, alongside the club's medical staff."

This alarming news comes after the Storm had already lost another player, Eli Katoa, for the entire season due to brain surgery stemming from bleeding on the brain, which occurred after a series of head impacts while representing Tonga last November.

Kamikamica, who captains Fiji, contributed to Melbourne's recent tight NRL match against North Queensland, where he played 25 minutes off the bench.
