The Dragons and Kaiviti Silktails will be competing for the inaugural Apisai Toga Bowl in honor of Fijian legend Apisai Toga.

Toga, who played 65 games for the St George Dragons from 1968 to 1972, was a beloved figure among the Dragons faithful.

Known as 'Harpie', he was one of the first Fijian players to compete in the NSWRL and played a total of 103 games across the club's three grades.

Toga, along with his brother Inisai, often entertained locals by playing the guitar and showcasing their singing talents at a hotel after training sessions.

Tragically, Toga passed away before the start of the 1973 season after returning to Fiji during the off-season and contracting tetanus poisoning without realizing it.

This event serves as a reminder of Toga's impact on the Dragons and his contribution to rugby league in Fiji.

The match between the Dragons and Silktails will take place at Lautoka's Churchill Park on Saturday, honoring Toga's memory and legacy in the sport.
