Cameron Munster, the Melbourne Storm's dynamic five-eighth, recently opened up about a pivotal moment in his season that almost led to throwing in the towel and focusing on the future.
Munster, who has been battling a pesky groin injury throughout the season and endured a three-month absence, was on the brink of opting for surgery and planning for a comeback in 2025.
"I was at my wit's end and about to give the doctors the green light for surgery and take the year off to recoup and prepare for next season," Munster shared.
"For about eight weeks, I was struggling to see any improvement."
However, a much-needed trip to Fiji with his wife and kids proved to be a game-changer for the 29-year-old playmaker.
"After that getaway, I returned feeling rejuvenated and surprisingly pain-free.
It was like a new lease on life, both mentally and physically," Munster explained.
Despite the looming need for surgery in the off-season, Munster is now focused on leading the Storm into the finals feeling mentally and physically strong, thanks to a timely mid-year escape that reignited his passion for the game.
