Andrew Fifita, the formidable former Cronulla Sharks and Wests Tigers powerhouse, is gearing up for a triumphant return to the rugby league scene.

Despite announcing his retirement from the NRL in 2022, Fifita is poised to make a comeback in the local Cronulla competition.

The seasoned forward, a decorated NRL premiership winner with the Sharks in 2016 and a tenacious representative player with New South Wales in State of Origin clashes, as well as donning the green and gold jersey for Australia and proudly representing Tonga, is ready to lace up his boots once again.

With an impressive 252 NRL appearances over a illustrious 13-year career, Fifita is set to bring his wealth of experience to the De La Salle team in the Cronulla local league for the 2025 season.

In addition to showcasing his skills on the field, Fifita will also take on the crucial role of guiding and mentoring the younger players at the club.

"He'll be a positive influence on the up-and-coming talent," noted club president Dave Nicholson, highlighting Fifita's strong work ethic and passion for nurturing the next generation of rugby league stars.

This move is not about monetary gains but rather a heartfelt desire on Fifita's part to give back to the sport that has given him so much throughout his illustrious career.

With his infectious enthusiasm and invaluable experience, Fifita is poised to make a lasting impact on the De La Salle club and the local rugby league community.
