Field's future uncertain as he nears contract end

Wigan's dynamo fullback Jai Field is at a crossroads as he approaches the end of his contract, contemplating a potential return to the NRL.

Since crossing the pond to join the Super League in 2021, the former St George Illawarra and Parramatta Eels player has cemented himself as a standout performer, scoring tries at a rate that would make any winger jealous.

The lightning-fast Forbes native is keeping his options open as he looks towards life beyond 2024.

"I'm a bit undecided at the moment - I've got this season to focus on and then I'll see where the wind takes me, mate.

I'm up for anything," Field told NRL.com.

While the prospect of a homecoming may tug at his heartstrings, Field acknowledges the tough decision that lies ahead.

"If the opportunity arises to head back down under, it's definitely something to think about.

But you've also got to consider leaving behind a top-notch club like Wigan.

It's a real dilemma, gotta weigh up all the factors when crunch time comes, you know?"
