In an impressive defensive display, the Kiwi Ferns triumphed over Australia, ending their seven-year winless streak against their rivals.

The match took place at AAMI Park in Melbourne, where the Kiwi Ferns secured a hard-fought 12-6 victory over the world champions.

Despite spending extended periods defending their own line and having limited opportunities in attack, the Kiwi Ferns held their ground.

With only seven minutes left on the clock, Leianne Tufuga scored her first try at the Test level, sealing the win for New Zealand.

Throughout the game, the Kiwi Ferns showcased their resilience and determination, denying Australia any chance to respond.

From the beginning, the Jillaroos dominated possession and appeared to be the stronger team.

However, they struggled to break down the Kiwi defense, with their only try coming from Jaime Chapman.

Despite their dominance in key statistics, Australia found themselves tied at 6-6 going into halftime.

Their performance was marred by errors, resulting in a completion rate of under 40 percent for their first-half sets.
