Tamika Upton, who has had an outstanding season, has received a well-deserved international call-up.
The Harvey Norman Jillaroos coach, Brad Donald, has selected Upton as part of a 21-player squad for the upcoming 2023 Pacific Championships.
This news was reported by roosters.com.au.
Upton's inclusion in the squad comes after her exceptional performance in helping Newcastle secure back-to-back NRLW premierships, where she also won the Karyn Murphy Medal.
In addition, Upton, along with Emma Manzelmann and Jess Elliston, will be the three new faces in the Australian team, following their success in the World Cup last November.
Furthermore, the squad features players from various NRLW clubs, showcasing the competition's expansion in 2023.
Yasmin Clydsdale and Caitlan Johnston, who were part of the Knights' Grand Final victory, have also been included in the squad.
Additionally, the runner-up Titans have contributed five players to the extended squad, including Shaylee Bent, Lauren Brown, Jaime Chapman, Shannon Mato, and Evania Pelite.
It is worth noting that nine out of the ten NRLW clubs are represented in the Jillaroos squad, highlighting the widespread talent pool in the competition.
With such a strong and diverse group of players, the Jillaroos will be a formidable force in the upcoming Pacific Championships.
