The NRL's decision to feature a tribute act as the pre-game Grand Final entertainment has not been well received by fans.

News.com.au reported that while the AFL had American rock band KISS, the NRL opted for a Tina Turner tribute act.

The choice to turn back the clock and bring back a tribute act to headline the pre-game entertainment, thirty years after Turner stole the limelight at the 1993 Grand Final, left fans in disbelief.

Criticism poured in as fans expressed their disappointment with the league's decision.

From the fake Tina wig to the fact that the NRL couldn't secure anything better than a tribute act, every aspect of the pre-game show was slammed.

One fan took to social media to compare the AFL's choice of Kiss to the NRL's Tina Turner tribute band, stating, "The AFL had Kiss and the NRL has a Tina Turner tribute band."
