The Cowboys are thrilled to welcome back David Faiumu, a seasoned veteran of the rugby league world.

Faiumu, who was a key player in the Cowboys' first grand final appearance back in 2005, will now be bringing his expertise to the coaching staff in the hopes of leading the team to premiership glory.

Known as Cowboys NRL player No.162, Faiumu has officially joined Ricky Henry's NRLW staff as an assistant coach for the upcoming 2024 season.

With 76 NRL games under his belt for the Cowboys between 2004-2008, Faiumu then took his talents overseas to the UK Super League, where he had an impressive 162-game career with Huddersfield.

After hanging up his boots in 2014, Faiumu transitioned into a development role with Huddersfield before making his way back to Australian shores.

With a strong connection to the CQ Capras in Rockhampton, Faiumu has served as Queensland Cup Head Coach for three seasons and held various operational roles within the Capras' football department.

Having spent the past two years working alongside Henry as an assistant coach for the Kiwi Ferns, Faiumu played a pivotal role in their historic victory over Australia in last year's Pacific Championships.

A true international, Faiumu proudly represented the Kiwis in 10 matches, including their triumphant win over Australia in the 2005 Tri-Nations grand final.

With his wealth of experience and dedication to the sport, Faiumu is poised to make a significant impact on the Cowboys' coaching staff as they strive for success in the upcoming season.

As they say in the rugby league world, it's time for Faiumu to show his coaching prowess and steer the Cowboys to victory once again.
