Facial Fractures End Gamble's Season with Knights

Newcastle Knights five-eighth Tyson Gamble's participation with the club may have come to an end after he sustained "several facial fractures" during a NSW Cup match over the weekend.

The halfback, who has endured a challenging injury-plagued season in 2025, was playing in reserve grade following a decision by coach Adam O'Brien to drop him after the Knights' dismal defeat to the Penrith Panthers on Friday night. Jake Arthur filled his position.

Gamble managed to complete the game despite suffering the injuries in the 55th minute, but according to a report from the Newcastle Herald, he will not participate in any further games this season.

Though the full extent of his injuries and recovery timeline remain unclear, it is evident that Gamble's season is concluded. With only four rounds left in the NRL and three in the NSW Cup, both teams are set to miss out on the finals.

Gamble's year has been fraught with setbacks, having missed the start of the season due to a back injury, only to return and subsequently fracture his nose.
