The Gold Coast Titans may have to continue their wait for Tino Fa'asuamaleaui's decision about his future. The prominent forward, who regularly represents Queensland Maroons and Australian Kangaroos, has a long-term contract with the Titans but possesses several player options beginning in 2027.
Initially, Fa'asuamaleaui appeared to be considering a departure from the Titans. However, following a coaching change, he has opted to give new coach Josh Hannay an opportunity to make improvements.
The key question now is whether he will choose to remain with the club or pursue an offer from a rival team, such as the Perth Bears, who have reportedly extended a lucrative $1.5 million annual proposal his way.
According to AAP's Joel Gould, the Titans will likely find themselves waiting for Fa'asuamaleaui's decision for an extended period. Gould mentioned this during a discussion on SEN Radio, making it clear that the club is not going to pressure him for a swift answer.
"I was talking to one of the officials yesterday, and the lay of the land is this, really the ball's in Tino's (Fa'asuamaleaui) court," Gould stated on SEN 1170 Drive. "He's the one that can make the decision. The Titans want him to stay."
