Former Huddersfield and St Helens forward Josh Jones has dropped a bombshell on social media, revealing that he's been diagnosed with stage 2 chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a serious brain condition that's been plaguing him.

The former Great Britain forward, who hung up his boots last year due to concussion-related issues after parting ways with Huddersfield, has had stints with powerhouse clubs like St Helens, where he tasted glory in the Grand Final back in 2014, as well as Salford and Hull.

CTE, a condition believed to be caused by repeated head injuries and knocks, creeps up slowly over time and can eventually lead to dementia.

It's a tough blow for Jones and his family, who are now dealing with the fallout and making adjustments to their lives as they navigate this tough diagnosis.
