Ex-Sydney Roosters players Ben Marschke and Ben Thomas have made the decision to join a new team for the upcoming 2026 season, allowing them to extend their rugby league careers.
Both athletes have enjoyed several seasons with the Kincumber Colts in the Rugby League Central Coast (RLCC) competition, culminating in a championship win in 2025. They are now heading south to join the South Eastern Seagulls.
Founded in 1957, the Seagulls compete in the South Juniors A-grade competition. This past season, they faced challenges, finishing near the bottom of the standings under coach John Sutton.
The inclusion of the two former Roosters is expected to bring essential skills and a wealth of experience to the Seagulls' roster.
Ben Marschke, a twin brother of former St George Illawarra Dragons player Jesse Marschke, made 13 first-grade appearances for the Roosters in 2021 after moving up from their feeder club. He has also spent time in the reserve-grade systems of the Canterbury Bulldogs and Penrith Panthers.
Meanwhile, Ben Thomas last participated in the NRL in 2023, appearing seven times for the Roosters between 2021 and 2023. Notably, he was part of the team's Under-20s premiership-winning squad in 2016.
