Ex-NRL Centre Esan Marsters Eyes New Club

Esan Marsters, a former NRL centre who played for three different teams, is reportedly attracting interest from another club as he seeks to extend his rugby league career.

Currently with the Salford Red Devils, reports from Love Rugby League suggest that Marsters is poised to leave his team despite being under contract for two more years. He has drawn the attention of the Bradford Bulls.

The Bulls are optimistic about securing a spot in the Super League for next season, as the league prepares to expand to 14 teams.

Marsters relocated overseas at the end of 2022 after a notable NRL career with the Wests Tigers from 2017 to 2019, the North Queensland Cowboys from 2020 to 2021, and the Gold Coast Titans in 2021-22. Over his time in the NRL, he accumulated 86 first-grade appearances and scored 276 points.

He is primarily recognized for his tenure at the Tigers, during which he notably achieved over 3000 total running metres in 2018, marking him as the only centre to reach that milestone that season. Many experts believed his performance warranted a selection in the Team of the Year; however, he was released the following season.

In addition to his club career, Marsters has represented the Cook Islands and New Zealand on the international stage, making a total of 14 appearances for both nations.
