In a move that has sent shockwaves through the rugby league world, former Canterbury Bulldogs player and Papua New Guinea international Rhyse Martin has inked a deal with a new club to further ignite his career on the field.

Reports from the folks at zerotackle.com reveal that after catching the eye of The Dolphins earlier this year, Martin has opted to keep his boots planted in the Super League, signing on the dotted line for a two-year stint with the Hull Kingston Rovers until the end of the 2026 season.

This fresh contract will see him don the jersey of the Hull Kingston Rovers, joining forces with them under the guidance of Brad Arthur's Leeds Rhinos, where he has been a steady presence for the past six seasons after making the leap from the NRL Down Under.

With versatile skills that make him a valuable asset across multiple positions, the seasoned 31-year-old showcased his talent in 25 first-grade clashes for the Canterbury Bulldogs from 2018-19, carving his pathway up through the Sydney Roosters pathways system.

"I can't wait to hit the field with Hull KR next season and give it my all.

Chatting with Willie really got my blood pumping, and I'm eager to make an impact," Martin shared.
