The Parramatta Eels recently scored a major try by hosting the inaugural Rising Women of Western Sydney Forum in honor of Women in League Round.
Teaming up with the Parramatta City Council, this event brought together players from corporate, government, and non-for-profit sectors to tackle critical issues facing Australian society today, with a particular focus on boosting the social and emotional wellbeing of the Western Sydney community.
With over 100 guests in attendance, the forum featured expert panellists discussing topics directly in line with the Parramatta Eels Social Impact Strategy.
Conversations revolved around empowering future leaders, teaming up for women's safety, and addressing mental health in sports and community.
Dr.
Rhonda Itaoui from Western Sydney University led the charge with a keynote address on "Strength in Diversity: Women Leading the Future of Western Sydney," highlighting the hurdles females, especially those from multicultural backgrounds, face in reaching leadership roles and stressing the importance of amplifying their voices to enhance business impact.
The forum also saw a lineup of impressive panellists and wasn't the only game on the field for the Eels.
They also hosted over 200 junior female participants at the Parra Play Girls Only event on The Green at Parramatta North.
It was a win-win situation, as these young players got the chance to hone their skills and team spirit while also celebrating the rising women of Western Sydney.
