In a dominating performance, the SG Ball Cup Eels extended their flawless start to the 2024 season by delivering a comprehensive victory over the Balmain Tigers at Eric Tweedale Stadium on Saturday.
The boys in Blue & Gold proved once again why they are the team to beat in the competition as they showcased their style and skill on the field.
Despite the humid conditions, the high-flying U19s side soared to a triumphant win, making it three consecutive victories to kick off the season.
Their flawless record has undoubtedly sent a message to their rivals that the Eels are a force to be reckoned with.
However, it wasn't all smooth sailing for the Eels, as the Tigers fought back valiantly towards the end of the first half.
With a torrential run of possession, the Tigers managed to score two converted tries, narrowing the gap to just two points as the teams headed to the changing rooms.
Yet, the Eels' resilience prevailed as Jai Camilleri, a true gem out of dummy half, displayed his danger with an unstoppable burst, diving over the line for a trademark try.
With the win in their pocket, the Eels will be looking to maintain their impressive form when all four Junior Reps teams take on the Illawarra Steelers this weekend in Wollongong.
