Parramatta Eels are facing significant challenges as forward Kelma Tuilagi has been hit with a Grade 2 crusher tackle charge, following their recent loss to the Dragons.
This incident transpired in the final minute of the match, where Tuilagi made dangerous contact with St George Illawarra lock Jack de Belin.
As a result, the match review committee issued a serious charge against Tuilagi.
If he opts for an early guilty plea, he faces a three-match suspension; if he contests the charge and loses, it could extend to four matches.
Compounding the situation, Tuilagi had only just returned from a five-week suspension for a separate dangerous throw.
The timing of this charge is particularly detrimental for Parramatta, as they are currently languishing at the bottom of the ladder and already dealing with depth issues in their forward pack.
