In a disappointing result for the Melbourne Storm, the Parramatta Eels emerged victorious in Round 22 of the Jersey Flegg competition with a score of 26-18.
Despite a valiant effort from the Storm, the Eels showcased their physicality and dominance in the windy conditions.
The match got off to a rocky start for the Storm as they made an error off the kick-off, allowing the Eels to quickly capitalize and score through winger Matthew Komolafe within the first minute.
However, the Storm fought back with determination, defending their goal line against multiple Eels attacks.
Their efforts paid off when Siulagi Pio intercepted a pass and sprinted 50 meters downfield, giving the Storm a much-needed boost.
Taking advantage of the improved field position, Keagan Russell-Smith set up Angus Hinchey for a try in the 6th minute.
Unfortunately, the Storm's lead was short-lived as another error led to the Eels' second try, with Blaize Talagi delivering a well-executed cutout pass for Komolafe to score his second try in the corner.
