The Parramatta Eels have made some strategic moves by extending the contracts of three promising pathways players - Charlie Guymer, Saxon Pryke, and Richard Penisini - until the end of the 2026 season.
These young guns, who were instrumental in the SG Ball Grand Final victory in 2023, have been earmarked for big things in the coming years.
Guymer, a dynamic back rower, has been making waves in the Eels Pathways system since his days as captain of the SG Ball team in 2023.
His leadership skills earned him a spot in the Under 19's NSW Origin squad, and he has since made a name for himself in the NSW Cup and even debuted in first grade earlier this year.
Pryke, on the other hand, has been a mainstay in the Eels system since 2019, working his way up from the development squads to being a key player in the SG Ball Grand Final triumph.
Known for his prowess as a lock forward, Pryke was recently honored as the Jersey Flegg Cup Player of the Year at the Club's prestigious Ken Thornett Medal ceremony.
Both Guymer and Pryke are set to continue their upward trajectory in the development squad in 2025, with plans for them to join the Top 30 roster in 2026.
As for Penisini, he too has shown immense potential and will be looking to make his mark on the field in the years to come.
These contract extensions are a testament to the Eels' commitment to nurturing young talent and building towards a successful future.
The club is confident that these three players will play a key role in continuing the proud tradition of Parramatta Rugby League for years to come.
