The Parramatta Eels have officially announced that five-eighth Ronald Volkman has extended his contract for an additional two seasons, keeping him at the club until the end of 2028.
This year, Volkman has shown significant improvement and has become a vital part of the Eels' offensive strategy.
The 24-year-old was facing free agency after this season since there was no contract in place for next year.
To ensure he remains with the Eels as a valuable depth player in the halves, the club has reached an agreement, with Jarome Luai and Mitchell Moses expected to fill the six and seven positions next year.
Reports suggested that the Canterbury Bulldogs were keen on signing him.
In 18 games this season, Volkman has achieved eight tries, forced eight dropouts, registered ten try assists, and led the team to a surprising victory over Cronulla, showcasing a spectacular solo try.
His impressive playmaking ability earned him his international debut for Samoa in the Pacific Championships in 2023, coinciding with his NRL debut for the New Zealand Warriors.
The Eels celebrated Volkman's new contract on social media, highlighting his appreciation for the support from fans.
