Eels scoop up Bulldogs talent, lock in forward

The Parramatta Eels have pulled off a slick move by snatching up some promising talent from the Canterbury Bulldogs, securing the signatures of Joash Papalii and Jordan Samrani.

They've also locked in the services of Matt Doorey, ensuring their forward pack remains solid.

Papalii is being touted as a rising star in the game, with his skills as a fullback garnering plenty of attention.

He has already notched up 20 NSW Cup appearances this season, bringing his total to 36 games, and has made 15 try assists while averaging an impressive 113 metres per match.

A former Australian Schoolboy and New South Wales under-19s representative, Papalii is certainly one to watch.

On the other hand, Samrani may be a bit raw compared to Papalii, but he has still made an impact in reserve grade with 16 appearances in 2024.

He has crossed the try line 6 times and has been averaging 125 metres per game, showcasing his versatility by playing in multiple positions like centre, second-row, and wing.

With these new recruits in their ranks, the Eels are looking to strengthen their squad and push for success in the upcoming seasons.

Time will tell if these signings pay off, but the Eels are certainly making moves to bolster their lineup.
