The Wests Tigers have set a transfer fee of $165,000 for Lachlan Galvin, who is currently under contract until the end of 2026 but will leave the club at the end of his current deal.
According to reports from zerotackle.com, transfer fees are uncommon in the NRL, but the Tigers have made it clear that Galvin will not be released for free.
Initially, the club stated that an early release had not been requested and would not be considered.
However, the situation escalated with teammates reportedly turning against Galvin after comments he made in an interview, suggesting that his future would be better with a different coach than Benji Marshall.
Consequently, Galvin spent a week playing in the NSW Cup.
The Parramatta Eels are believed to be at the forefront in acquiring Galvin and are currently the only club expressing interest in him.
Nevertheless, the acquisition will require a financial commitment due to the transfer fee established by the Tigers.
