Eels player with one foot out the door

Yet another Parramatta Eels player has reportedly been linked with an early exit from the club as they aim to revamp their squad under the guidance of Jason Ryles and create some breathing room in their salary cap.

A stalwart of the team's forward pack, known for his hard-hitting style in the second-row, Shaun Lane has been a crowd favorite since joining the Eels back in 2019.

However, his time at the club may be cut short sooner than expected.

Affectionately dubbed the 'Lane Train', the 29-year-old is rapidly approaching his 200th game milestone, with an impressive 128 appearances already under his belt for the Eels, along with previous stints at the Bulldogs, Warriors, and Sea Eagles.

Although contracted until the end of the 2025 season, with a potential extension for 2026, Lane has been informed that he is free to explore opportunities with other clubs, as reported by News Corp.

This news now adds Lane to the growing list of Parramatta Eels players facing potential early departures, joining the likes of Fijian international Maika Sivo, and NSW Blues representatives Reagan Campbell-Gillard and Ryan Matterson on the exit radar.
