The Parramatta Eels, fresh off a surprising victory against the Brisbane Broncos, are reportedly "close to signing a very good edge forward" to enhance their roster.
This move comes as head coach Jason Ryles works to revamp the team following his recent appointment.
Since taking the helm, Ryles has made significant roster changes aimed at elevating the Eels from their current standing and returning the club to the NRL Finals.
Although several seasoned players, including Clinton Gutherson and Reagan Campbell-Gillard, have left, Ryles has successfully recruited emerging talents such as Isaiah Iongi, Jack Williams, Joash Papalii, and Josh Addo-Carr, who have contributed to the team's success in 2025.
Currently, the Eels are focused on acquiring a back-rower to strengthen their starting lineup.
They have the financial capability to sign a top player, thanks to the funds available from Dylan Brown's departure at the end of 2025.
As noted by Buzz Rothfield from The Daily Telegraph, "There's a bit of mail around and I don't know who the player is, but they are close to signing a very good edge forward."
