The Parramatta Eels have reportedly granted outside back Bailey Simonsson permission to explore opportunities with other clubs. This decision comes amidst mounting speculation regarding his future as his relationship with head coach Jason Ryles has reportedly soured.
Simonsson has been contemplating a departure from the Eels, particularly after expressing his unwillingness to play in the centres. Consequently, he has been overlooked for selection recently in favor of Jordan Samrani and, surprisingly, Dylan Brown.
Interestingly, Brown, who many believed would play his last game for the Eels before departing for the Newcastle Knights next year, was unexpectedly chosen to play in the centres during a thrilling match against the North Queensland Cowboys last weekend.
Simonsson's frustration has led him to seek a release, a request he has reportedly made three times in the past month. Following a recent meeting between Simonsson's management and the club, the Sydney Morning Herald has confirmed that Simonsson will indeed be allowed to negotiate with rival teams.
