Documents have been submitted to the Parramatta Eels as they work to prevent Zac Lomax, a NSW State of Origin star, from moving to the Melbourne Storm.

The Eels have accessed emails from Lomax's former winger lawyer but are currently unable to view nine emails sent to his agent.

These documents are part of Parramatta's effort to keep Lomax from switching teams, following his release from a four-year contract at the end of the previous season. He had sought a deal with the rugby union competition R360, which ultimately fell through.

As the NSW Supreme Court prepares for an urgent two-day hearing just weeks before the 2026 season, Lomax's barrister informed the court that documents subpoenaed from his solicitor, Ramy Qutami, regarding Lomax's departure were being shared with the Eels.

A legal privilege claim has been made regarding the nine emails between Mr. Qutami and Lomax's agent, Clinton Schifcofske. This claim prevents the emails' release unless a further court order is issued.

The Melbourne Storm has been granted additional time to submit documents related to their interest in Lomax. They were initially required to provide these by Thursday but now have until Monday.

Reflecting the urgency of the situation, Lomax's legal team is already "deep in the preparations" for the upcoming hearing, according to Adam Casselden SC, who is set to present evidence from their witnesses.
