In Round 10 of the NSW Cup, the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles suffered a disappointing 36-20 defeat against the Sydney Roosters, marking their fourth consecutive loss.
The match took place at Scully Park, Tamworth.
Manly commenced strongly, with half-back Joey Walsh scoring the first try in the 13th minute, putting them ahead 6-0.
Following a turn of momentum and an accidental offside by the Roosters, Manly's prop Matthew Lodge took full advantage in the 20th minute, scoring another try after a tap restart, extending the lead to 10-0.
Just four minutes later, Walsh's impressive tackle break and a cut-out pass allowed winger Raymond Tuaimalo Vaega to score in the corner, pushing the lead to a comfortable 14 points.
However, as the first half wound down, the Roosters found their footing and managed to score just before half-time, with centre Kyron Fekitoa crossing the line, bringing the score to 14-6 at the break.
Despite a strong start, Manly failed to maintain their lead, ultimately succumbing to the Roosters.
